Insulation!

It was a hot, humid day and the insulation crew had to be in full hazmat gear to spray the foam. Nasty work.

What - no drafts? We still have the LR & DR to remind us of 'before'.

The cats had to hang out with me at Verenda's for the day. They were happy to be around people again! Grace had dinner with the kitties and hung out for the evening.

New back steps - pretty!

Holy Electrical Panel Batman!

We knew we had an outdated inadequate electrical panel but check out the new big daddy!

New on the left - old on the right!

We have lots of room to grow...

Sign, Sign, Everywhere's a sign...except our house : (

Technically we have a sign in our yard that advertises our project - it's on the porch. Everyone ELSE has it planted in the yard. If this is my only gripe at this stage I suppose I should be happy...

I wonder if this is George's (Dan's dad) spirit keeping 'advertising for free' going. He hated wearing any logo or having any advertisement around him. "I'll do it if they pay me" he always said!

6 week count down

It's in writing - we'll be living in our house again on June 30th. Our fingers and toes are crossed. The crew is going to have to move it to get the ENTIRE inside put back together

Week 6 - wrap up outside and inspections
Week 5 - insulation & drywall
Week 4 - interior trim & painting
Week 3 - bathrooms & cabinets
Week 2 - counter tops & more trim
Week 1 - wrap up items needed to 'occupy'

July - wrap up remaining loose ends and schedule furniture delivery!

A few items to wrap up outside and this phase is COMPLETE! Can you picture a rope ladder outside John's window, down the roof line and out! In all likelihood it will be Ms Grace sneaking out and blaming her brother.

Old meets new in this section and you can't tell! That was Dan's goal for this project.

They will clean up all the utility mess with neater wiring, etc.

Dan's last exterior area to remove paint (strip it baby!)

1 column that needs some TLC from Dan and the SpeedHeater. He said 'no more after this' : )

Narrowing paint colors

1 more round of testing but I think this is the color pallet:

Trim: Timid white

Living Room: Philipsburg blue

Dining Room: Chestertown buff

Kitchen: Georgian Brick (I hope)

3 walls of gather space and up the stairs on 1 side: Pittsfield buff
this looks more butter yellow on the wall

Gather space main wall and up stairs: Newburg green (looks blue on the wall)

We have countertops!

Verde Butterfly is the winner. It has a black base with garnet, white and gold tones. Perfect for our kitchen.

Grace requested a blue vanity top for the upstairs bathroom. She liked the blue marbelite at Home Depot but the remnent pile has a BEAU-tiful piece of azul macauba granite. This is the color family but the piece we saw has more white and he blue is a big checkered pattern. Stunning!

Central A/C BABY!

They had to cram (Dan says 'place') the A/C system into the attic space...but it fit - YIPPEE

Of course we have  an updated heating system. 3 zones for 1800sq ft - really??? It's a necessity I'm told.

This is the extra part of the system for the radiant heat in the gather space & kitchen : )

New siding & windows - looks great!

East side of the house was finished with wood siding to match the original house. The addition section is finished in hardiplank (cement) siding. The addition will probably be several shades more yellow.
